Thou Shalt Not Move My Stuff

This is Oliver Rule Number One. I did move his stuff. I took the whole interim rabbit mansion apart and cleaned it. We're talking scrubbing step stools and underfootment and hidey holes (at least that was its intention...). Outdoors so the wind and sun (not much of it, but once I saw it for a few minutes) could assist in the deodorizing.

Reconfigurement was next. It was a work of astounding genius and very little cash. There's a loft with a gauzy fabric covered hiding spot. There's a new IKEA step stool that my neighbour bought for Oliver while we were there. [She needed to exchange some things and get some parts... so I volunteered.]

The breaking of ORNO took place when I repositioned the litter pan at the back of the large crate. I had thought a lack of privacy when the pan was near the front may have been contributing to the delinquent toilet habits of the past few days.

After exploring the new set up and seeming quite happy with the veggie course of dinner, Oliver baptized the opposite front corner. I told him off, wiped it up, move the litter pan back to its former front of the cage position and put the paper towel I used squarely in the middle of it. Fine. He'd rather have the pan where it was. Okay.

A few minutes later, he did it again. After putting the second towel in the litter pan, I wiped down the target area with vinegar.

He investigated the paper in the pan and when he sat there I was full of praise for him. More munching and a bit of lazing about and then... the cutest thing happened. I was washing the dishes and happened to look over to see a little yellow puddle in the same spot as the other two. Not so cute you're thinking, right? The cute part was that he had pulled the paper towels out of the litter pan and appeared to be trying to put them on the wet spot.

Aw. I just couldn't get mad. He was sort of trying to do what he thought I wanted: cleaning up the mess. I relented and moved the litter pan to the corner that he now seems to want it in.

The web cam has been repositioned. Now, if you're lucky, you'll be able to see my Mini Rex buddy munching on leafy stuff in his loft. A recent poll showed three out of four viewers had successful web cam experiences on this site. Meaning the picture was displayed. Whether or not Oliver is in front of it at a given moment is one of those random things that make life so interesting.
