Nearing Perfection

The dog crate cum rabbit condo is working out even better than I'd thought. My little place has appropriately little counter space to go with the sparse floor space. I've acquired a microwave which takes up one half of the counter. It was installed on the shelves that stood where the rabbit condo is being developed.

A wonderful discovery has been that the top of the dog crate is counter height. I now think that everyone should have a dog crate (large one) in their kitchen. You'd be surprised at all the things you can stash in there. Unless you have a dog, in which case you'll want to stash your dog there and not all the stuff I've been getting out from under foot tonight.

The construction of Oliver's new living space is going well but it is still going. I've been known to make little models of creations such as this. Not this time. This time I'm winging it. I'm getting pretty good at winging, I'm happy to report.

When it's all done and he's happily hopping around giving Dixie something to watch besides the birds and squirrels through the window, I'll put the web cam back up so you can see what I've been up to without travelling here. Not that I don't welcome visitors. I would and do. I don't have room for people to sit and eat (except on my futon/bed) and only one bed so, unless you're a very special person, no place for overnight guests.

I shall change as much of this as I can as soon as I can. I need a job first, though. Or a lottery win. Right.

I need a few things, actually. Like new glasses, visits to a dentist -- stuff like that. But what I lust after since my visit to Lee Valley this week are a band saw and a drill press. I know, I know -- I don't have room for them right now. So they are going on the When I Get A Job list. I checked them out at Home Depot during my most recent trip to get more parts for the rabbit condo. Not nearly as expensive as they sound. One of them weighs about the equivalent of a concrete slab, which means I'll have to get help moving and installing it on the work bench to which these pieces of equipment need to be attached.

Steph has become my Lifting Advisor. I know she'd approve of my assessment of the silliness of even thinking about lifting such a thing.

A good day even though it's rained most of the hours I've been up and about. I managed to get a smidge of an adjustment done to the plywood that is the floor of this condo creation just before the rain started. Very nice to be able to do stuff like this again. Very nice indeed.
