Welcome to the inaugural
proba.tive.org web site. Version 0.0.0.1 or something.
A rather spartan place right now, but a great place to visit. Be sure to come back and see what's cooking once in a while.
Many thanks to all who played a part in getting me to the mid-century mark today. I couldn't have become who I am without your participation and support. (So it IS your fault after all...)
Soon I will have all kinds of fun and some instructive content up here, but tonight, I am content to finally have my web site officially launched.
I have just returned from a wonderful dinner with my son and daughter-in-law after which I was presented with some tools to get me started on my plans for the next 50 years. Books! Very appropriate and welcomed.
My day started with a phone call from my daughter who is half way across the world. Then there were email messages and phone calls from good friends and former partners. My truck-driving brother called from firey California, too!
My newest friend in Kingston treated me to a delicious lunch.
I am officially feted and 50.
That's it for now. I'll be putting things here as I figure them out.
Aren't you looking forward to that? I thought so.
It's going to be a busy place,
what with pictures and stories about places I've been and things I've
been doing since I last visited with many of you... Let's see,
over here there'll be some things for people I have worked with, and
then stuff for my family and pseudo (chosen) family.
Can't forget my pets and pet
peeves and the really oddish things I seem to notice. And my
contribution to public education: stranger than fiction but documented encounters with the
demons of stupidity and incompetence.
Oh, and the dreaded Move From Hell 2001 (I may need to bring in a couple of assistants to fully explain that unique bonding experience)
.... stay tuned
